New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association Welcomes Endicott

Endicott Gains Membership

July 7, 2008

With 20 scheduled regatta's under their sails in 2007/08, the Sailing team has progressed to a fully competitive member in the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association. Highlighting this year's competition, several key freshmen and women teamed up with club veterans to finish consistently in the top 10 in multiple A-division races against NEISA's scholarship teams. Unlike other varsity sports, collegiate sailing teams compete against each other across the Division I, II, and III levels, providing exceptional challenges and requiring skilled sailors. That said, the team has matured in every area since the club's official recognition in February of 2006, and it has shown on the scoreboard. This fall, a new class of freshman recruits will increase the competitive atmosphere for coveted A division regatta spots, six additional boats will be added to the fleet, and with the addition of two floating docks a new "home" is in store at the protective cove at Tupper Beach on the grounds of the Richard E. Wylie Conference Center.
